Digital Yearbooks (C Posting)

The article entitled “Grant Provides for DVD Yearbook” by David E. Malloy introduces the idea that Dawson-Bryant High School had to make digital yearbooks. The school was given a $2500 grant for technology and then after creating this idea received another $1000 from the Ohio South Tech Prep Consortium. This money was used to purchase video equipment including cameras, videocameras, and software. Some of the benefits the article states for making a video yearbook are that it will represent a greater number of people, shows the school off better, and engages students to make learning fun.
I really liked this article. The idea of making a yearbook a video is great. Often at graduation a video is played and it would be nice to see the yearbook at graduation. I had never thought of this idea, but right away when hearing of it I wished my school had done this. It would capture the student’s personalities and enhance memories of the school much better. I think the students that receive a video yearbook will really enjoy this change.
